FAQ's and Tip's

Please reach us at josh@prominentpetservices.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Upon entering your yard, we’ll ensure the gate is securely closed. When leaving, we’ll double-check the gate is latched and send you a photo of it closed. If we encounter any gate issues, we’ll secure it with a bungee strap and notify you of the problem.

Please promptly fix any latch or gate issues, as Prominent Pet Services is not liable for pets escaping due to home security gaps.

Yes, we provide long-term service membership plans. Click the "3, 6, 12 Month Membership" button at the top of the page for a detailed overview of our bronze, silver, and gold pricing options.

Absolutely, we would credit the account for the number of months left on the current membership and issue an invoice for the upgraded plan.

For example, a customer with a bronze once-a-month membership ($259.99), who has used 2 months, wants to upgrade to a silver twice-a-month plan ($299.99) at the start of their final month. We credit $86.66 for the remaining bronze month and send an invoice for $213.33 ($299.99 - $86.66) to complete the upgrade.

We are not trying to stop you from saving money!

Credits must be used within one year of issuance, except for gold members. Gold member plans last 12 months, so their credits roll over beyond a year to be fully utilized.

Yes, but credits don’t retain their original value when upgrading to a higher membership plan. While upgrading saves money, existing credits convert to the new plan’s pricing structure.

Referral Credits

*Monthly subscribers earn $5 per referral, up to a $50 monthly cap.

*3-month plan subscribers earn 10% off the regular monthly rate and $3.25 per referral. (Up to a $32.50 monthly cap or $97.50/billing cycle)

*6-month plan subscribers earn 20% off the regular monthly rate and $3 per referral. (Up to a $30 monthly cap or $180/billing cycle)

*12-month plan subscribers earn 30% off the regular monthly rate and $2.75 per referral. (Up to a $25 monthly cap or $330/billing cycle)

Referrals earned after payment are tracked and applied as a lump sum toward your next ACH withdrawal. You can use all unused credits to offset the cost of upgrading to a higher membership tier. If you don’t use your credits towards the upgrade, credits will be adjusted to the new plan’s value.

While we do understand that it is highly frustrating to pay for a service and not get what you were promised. We are more than happy to provide "same day re-inspection" at no cost to you. We want to ensure we are doing a good job!

The monthly fee is based on a 52-week calendar and averaged out over 12 months. For months with 5 weeks instead of 4, you will not be charged for the extra visit as it is built into the monthly pricing.

For example, you have a 3-month subscription costing $449.99. You have 1 dog, and the yard will be scooped three times a week. How much does each scoop cost me? Take $449.99 and divide it by 3 to find a monthly cost of 150. Now take 150 and divide it by 4.33 to find your weekly cost of $34.64. Now take that weekly cost of $34.64 and divide it by 3 to find your cost per scoop of $11.55.

As a recurring customer, you may wonder why we don’t service on holidays or how we handle pricing with varying month lengths. Like a waste management service, we don’t operate on holidays to reduce costs through optimized routes and staff efficiency. Our technicians will text you 60 minutes before arrival, and any waste not collected on holidays will be picked up on the next service day.

Thank you for your understanding!

Prominent Pet Services charges two extra fees. A $25 cold service fee for one-time clean-ups in December, January, February, or March. This fee accounts for the added effort required to remove frozen waste piles during these months. There will also be a late fee of $10, for any returned or late charge.

If payment isn’t received before the first cleaning of the month, your service will be suspended, and you’ll be removed from the schedule until any outstanding balance is cleared.

For one-time clean-ups, a $50 upfront fee is required for the technician to service the area for 30 minutes. Any additional time is billed at a flat rate of $1 per minute.

If a client refuses to pay for extra services provided, they will be ineligible for future services, charged a $10 late fee, and the unpaid bill will be reported to credit bureaus, potentially harming their credit score.

When first linking a debit or credit card to your online portal a test transaction for $1.50 will occur. No money is actually taken out of your account.

Net terms refer to the number of days a customer has to pay an invoice before it becomes overdue. We offer 0 net terms. Our recurring membership service operates on a pre-paid billing cycle, with invoices emailed on the first of each month and your debit/credit card on file charged immediately.

Nope! Just keep your membership active to unlock the best savings.

If weather conditions prevent us from servicing your property, we’ll clean it on the next available service day. While no service occurs on the missed day, regular charges apply. We ensure your yard is thoroughly cleaned on the following service day.

If we can’t access your yard due to a locked or broken gate, you’ll still be charged for the cleaning, but we’ll provide double service the next week. Your Scoop Technician will knock on your door and try calling you before skipping your yard that day. You’ll also be notified through the customer portal.

*Animal waste in gated backyards can pose health risks to humans and pets, and the dangers increase if it accumulates over time. *

Dangers of Animal Feces:

  1. Bacterial Infections: animal waste can harbor harmful bacteria like Salmonella, E. coli, and Campylobacter, which can cause gastrointestinal illness in humans and pets if ingested or contacted.
  2. Parasites: animal waste may contain parasite eggs or larvae, such as roundworms, hookworms, or giardia, which can infect pets or humans, especially children who play in the yard.
  3. Viral Transmission: Certain viruses, like parvovirus, can persist in animal waste and infect unvaccinated pets.
  4. Attracting Pests: animal waste attracts flies, rodents, and other pests, which can spread diseases further.
  5. Environmental Contamination: Rain can wash animal waste into soil or water sources, spreading pathogens or contaminating gardens.

Risks of Buildup Over Time:

  • Increased Pathogen Load: Accumulated animal waste may heighten the concentration of bacteria, parasites, and viruses, raising the risk of infection.
  • Soil Contamination: Over time, pathogens can penetrate deeper into the soil, making the yard unsafe for play or gardening.
  • Odor and Hygiene Issues: Piles of animal waste create unpleasant odors and make the yard less usable.
  • Harder to Clean: Frozen or dried animal waste (common in colder months) are more difficult to remove, potentially requiring more intensive cleaning efforts. Hence our $25 Cold Fee for one-time clean-ups in Dec, Jan, Feb, and Mar.
  • Pet Behavior: Pets may ingest or roll in accumulated animal waste, increasing their exposure to pathogens.

Mitigation:

  • Regular Cleanup: Prompt removal of animal waste reduces health risks and prevents buildup. Services like Prominent Pet Services can help maintain a clean yard.
  • Sanitation Measures: Using eco-friendly, pet-safe disinfectants or deodorizers can further reduce pathogen spread.
  • Yard Maintenance: Ensure proper drainage and repair any gaps in fencing to prevent stray animals from adding to the animal waste.

*In summary, animal waste in gated backyards can be dangerous, especially if allowed to accumulate, as it amplifies health risks and environmental concerns. Regular cleaning and sanitation are key to keeping the area safe. *
